Tristan Brawn

Real Name: Sean Cassidy
Code Name: Banshee
From: Ireland
Age: mid-40s
Hair Colour: Red-Blonde
Eye Colour: Blue-Green
Height: 6'
Weight: 170lbs
Family: Maeve Rourke (wife, deceased), Theresa "Siryn" Rourke (daughter), Thomas Eamon "Black Tom" Cassidy (cousin)
First Appearance: Uncanny X-Men #28
Current Team: None
Previous Team: X-Corps (Leader), Generation X (Co-Leader), X-Men, Factor Three
Powers: Sean's enhanced vocal chords allow him to emit a sonic scream which he uses to fly (at the speed of sound) and to emit sonic vibrations. These vibrations have many effects (shatter steel, send people to sleep, knock over walls) and Sean can calibrate them to any pitch he desires. He also has better than average hearing.

Profile from the Gen X Ashcan

History: Sean Cassidy was born and raised in Ireland as the heir to Cassidy Keep, his family's ancestral castle. Like many, his mutant powers manifested in his adolescence, but Sean hid them from everyone. He gained a Science degree from Trinity College, Dublin and became, first a detective, then an inspector for Interpol, an international police force.

During this period of his life he married Maeve O'Rourke, over whom he and his cousin, Tom (the only person who knew that Sean was a mutant), had been rivals. While Sean was away on a secret long-term mission, Maeve discovered that she was pregnant. She had her child, a daughter named Theresa, before her husband returned home. After the birth of Theresa, Maeve decided to visit some relations in Northern Ireland and was killed by a terrorist bomb. Theresa's body was not found and it was assumed that she was also dead. However, Tom Cassidy had rescued the child and planned to raise her himself in the hope that she would develop mutant powers that he could use to his own benefit.

At the end of his mission, Sean discovered that his wife was dead, but was not told that he had also had a daughter who had been (supposedly) killed along with her mother. Overcome by grief, he left Interpol and worked for the NYPD in America for awhile. However, his grief continued to affect him and he left the police force, becoming a freelance operative. He gradually became involved in crime (although he was never arrested) leading to his association with Factor Three.

The Changeling, a mutant belonging to Factor Three, invited Sean to join the group. When Sean refused, Factor Three kidnapped and enslaved him. They gave him a new code name, Banshee, and forced him to participate in their criminal activities. This led to a clash with the X-Men in New York. The X-Men captured Sean and Professor Xavier was able to disarm the headband Factor Three had used to enslave him. In return, Sean told the X-Men everything he knew about Factor Three. However, Sean was captured by Factor Three again, and set free again. He helped the X-Men to destroy the groups' plans for world domination. He also helped the X-Men to defeat the Mutant Master, who was exposed as an alien.

Leaving his temporary allies, Sean wandered for a few years, having run-ins with the second Secret Empire and the Sentinels. When the original X-team disappeared, Professor X invited Sean to join a new generation of X-Men to search for the first. Sean accepted and stayed with the X-Men for quite some time. Through the team he met Dr Moira McTaggert, who he fell in love with. The pair were involved in a relationship until her death.

After a battle with Moses Magnum in Japan, Sean damaged his vocal chords and seemingly lost the use of his sonic scream. Returning to Muir Island, he and the X-Men fought Proteus, Moira's son. This battle made Sean realize that he wanted to stay with Moira permanently instead of visiting her occasionally as he had been doing. He left the X-Men, although he continued to aid them when necessary, and stayed on Muir Island. During his stay on the island, the X-Men fought Black Tom Cassidy, and his accomplice, Theresa Rourke. After their defeat at the hands of the X-Men, Tom told Theresa that Sean Cassidy was really her father and she left Tom to meet him.

Theresa, codenamed Siryn, had developed powers similar to those of her father. After their first meeting, Sean gained custody of her, but their relationship was quite distant. Theresa joined, and eventually became the leader of, X-Force and continued to see Sean intermittently. It is only recently that the pair have developed a deeper relationship.

Sean left Muir Island to become the co-head of Xavier's next generation of mutants - Generation X. He, along with Emma "White Queen" Frost , was responsible for teaching the teenage group how to deal with their powers. While with the team, Sean battled various enemies and developed something of a relationship with Emma. Their burgeoning romance vanished, however, when the White Queen agreed to trade one of the students (Penance) to Emplate in exchange for the safe returns of the other students. This amazed and appalled Sean, causing him to return to something of his old mistrust for the former leader of the Hellions.

After the death of Moira and the disbanding of Generation X, Sean founded X-Corps, a militant group dedicated to the protection of mutants, especially those in Europe. The group captured mutants on the wrong side of the law and used mind-control to make them work for X-Corps. It was involved in many demonstrations and riots where it often used force, although never fatally. Sean's methods and ideas became more and more extreme, causing concern from both the X-Men and his former students, several of whom worked with him. In an attack planned to liberate one of his prisoners, Sean's throat was slit by Mystique, who left him to bleed to death. He did not die, however, and was rescued by the X-Men. He eventually healed, yet remained as an inactive member of the X-Men.

In 2007, during the X-Men: Deadly Genesis special event, Banshee died a hero's death trying to stop a plane from crashing that was set up by Vulcan, the long-lost 3rd Summers brother

Sean Cassidy aka Banshee: Generation X Ashcan Profile

"The name's Sean Cassidy. I'm the mutant called Banshee. I'm also the new Headmaster of the Massachussetts Academy -- where I'll be the personal trainder of the members of Generation X. It's quite a challenge... Is this how Charles felt at first? Back when he welcomed his 5 new mutants into his school? Seems like a generation ago. I pray my Interpol trainin' and me time with the X-Men will be enough to teach these young how to live in a world that hates an' fears them -- a world where it be better if they're neither seen nor heard.

"And me with a sonic wreckin' ball for a voice. There's some kind 'a iron there."

Real Name: Angelo Espinoza
Code Name: Skin
Status: Deceased
Nicknames: Ange, City Mouse
From: South Central LA, USA
Age: 17
Hair Colour: Black/Gray
Eye Colour: Brown
Skin Colour: Grey
Height: 5'7
Weight: 110lbs
Family: Father (deceased), Mother, Gil (cousin), Inez (cousin)
First Appearance: Uncanny X-Men # 317
Last Appearance: Uncanny X-Men # 423
Current Team: None
Previous Team: Generation X
Powers: Dermal manipulation. Angelo possessed 4-6 feet of extra skin which he could control at will. His skin was highly resistant to punctures and tearing and started to fall into a liquid state when he fell unconscious, giving him the appearance of melting. To stop this 'melting' effect, Angelo had to concentrate to control his skin at all times and this often left him with a headache.

History: Angelo Espinoza was born in the Barrio in South Central LA. Like many other teenagers in the area, he joined a local gang. His powers were triggered during a drive-by shooting, but Angelo told no one and quickly decided to leave the gang by only way he could - by faking his own death. None of his friends or family were aware of his plan and many truly believed him to be dead.

He was one of the young mutants targeted for harvest by the Phalanx and was captured along with Husk, M and Blink. He was rescued by Banshee, Emma Frost, Jubilee, Synch and Sabretooth. This was the first time he met most of his future teammates.

Angelo joined Generation X when it opened and soon showed himself to be fun-loving, despite his resentment for his powers. Initially, he was quite secretive and wasn't too keen on having authority figures tell him what to do. However, as time went on, and he became more comfortable with his powers and teammates, his attitudes changed.

During his time with Generation X, Angelo was targeted by the X-Cutioner who wanted to arrest him for the murder of Angelo Espinoza, not realizing that Angelo was in fact Skin. When he escaped the X-Cutioner, Angelo decided to return home, taking Jono "Chamber" Starsmore with him. There they visited Angelo's grave and encountered, Torres, his ex-girlfriend. They also observed Angelo's mother, though she did not see them. Angelo was heartbroken by this as his mother spat at Torres for being a mutant and it was clear that she had no respect for mutants.

After the disbanding of Generation X, Angelo accompanied Jubilee to LA. Here, he displayed amorous feelings for Jubilee, but she did not reciprocate them. Although he enjoyed LA, where he worked in a fast food restaurant, he was slightly disappointed in Jubilee, believing that she was being exploited by filmmakers and could do a lot better. When he was next seen, he was dead, having been crucified on the front lawn of the Xavier Institute by the Church of Humanity, an anti-mutant group. Mourned by many of his friends and X-Men, Angelo was destined to have as troubled a death as he had had life. He was buried in his family plot, but the cemetery did not allow the burial of mutants on its grounds and so he was dug up and cremated. Husk and Jubilee, after a confrontation with the cemetery manager, took his ashes.

Real Name: Jubilation Lee
Code Name: Jubilee
Nicknames: Jubes, Jubecita
From: Beverly Hills, South California, USA
Age: Roughly 16/17
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Brown
Height: 5'5
Weight: 105lbs
Family: Dr and Mrs. Lee (Mother and Father, both deceased)
First Appearance: Uncanny X-Men # 244
Current Team: X-Men
Previous Team: X-Corps, Generation X, X-Men (Blue Team)
Powers: Jubilee has the ability to fire plasma from her hands. She can control the direction, intensity, brightness and time of detonation of these "fireworks" and can also reabsorb them harmlessly into her body. She has the ability to affect things on a sub-atomic level, but fears using her powers to this extent.
Other:
Profile by Banshee

History: Born in Beverly Hills to successful emigrant parents, Jubilee was left mostly to her own devices. With no real adult supervision she quickly became a 'mallrat' and was in frequent trouble with mall security. She attended the Beverly Hills Preparation School where she developed a love of gymnastics that stands by her even now. Despite a form of dyslexia which made it difficult for her to work with numbers, Jubilee achieved straight As at the school.

Jubilee's mutant powers manifested themselves on her twelfth birthday when she was trying to escape mall security. A few months later, her parents died. Jubilee was told that they had lost their money in stock market fall and died in a car crash, but later discovered that they had been murdered. After her parent's death, she was sent to California County Juvenile Hall, where she showed no respect for authority and learned how to defend herself. To avoid being sent to relatives in Communist China, Jubilee ran away and set up home in a mall, where she used her powers to entertain the crowds. Living off the money this provided, Jubilee continued her habit of having run-ins with mall security, mainly for petty shoplifting offences.

It is unknown how long she lived like this, but it all came to an end when she was captured by a group of mutant hunters known as M-Squad. Although her captivity lasted for only a few minutes, it changed her life. When Jubilee was rescued by Storm, Rogue, Psylocke and Dazzler of the X-Men, she decided to follow them through a portal which had appeared in the mall. On the other side she was verbally greeted by the enigmatic Gateway, who directed her down a hole. Following his instructions, Jubilee found herself in the basement of the X-Men's Australian base.

At first, Jubilee hid her presence from the X-Men, stealing clothes and food to survive. When Wolverine was attacked by Donald Pierce and the Reavers she came to his aid, finally revealing herself. Following this, she traveled around Asia with him for several months. This trip cemented their close relationship, a bond that continues today. It has since been revealed that Jubilee blew up a house in Japan using her powers and was so shocked that she now holds her mutant ability somewhat in fear.

Upon her return from Asia, Jubilee joined the X-Men and was assigned to the Blue Team. The team quickly became her family, with both Wolverine and Professor Xavier as father-figures.

After her kidnapping by the Phalanx, Jubilee decided to leave the X-Men and join the newly-founded Generation X. She hoped that her time as a member of the new team would help her to control her powers and become a better leader. In fact, at first she naturally assumed that she, as the only student who had been an X-Man, would be the unchallenged leader of the team. She soon realized that this would not happen and found her place amongst the others. Towards the end of her time with Generation X, Jubilee was proving herself to be a capable leader and strategist.

When the team disbanded, Jubilee moved to LA with teammate, Angelo Espinoza. Here, she pursued a movie career and was fairly successful, though her roles were very limited and Angelo believed that she was being exploited. Jubilee seems to have realized that he was right and left LA to become part of Banshee's X-Corps. Later, both Jubilee and Angelo were crucified by a mutant-hating group, but only Jubilee survived the experience. After the death of her close friend, Jubilee was plagued by guilt, but seems to be coming to terms with her grief. She now seems to be a member of the X-Men yet again.

Jubilation Lee aka Jubilee: Generation X Ashcan Profile

Name: Jubilation Lee
Nationality: (In her own words) Southern Californian

After Logan left, I wasn't sure how interested Jubilee was in bein' a hero. But with a renewed sense of purpose, she seems obsessed with the idea of controlling and expanding the scope of her 'fireworks' power. I fear though, her desire to make Generation X the next X-Men may spark more than its fair share o' trouble with my new students.

Real Name: Monet Yvette Clarisse Maria Therese St. Croix
Code Name: M
From: Algeria
Age: 18
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Brown
Height: 5'7
Weight: 125lbs
Family: Ambassador Louis Cartier St Croix (father), Mother (deceased), Marius (brother - now Emplate), Nicole and Claudette (twin sisters)
First Appearance: Uncanny X-Men # 316 (twins as Monet), Generation X # 1 (Monet as Penance), Generation X # 40 (Monet as Monet)
Current Team: X-Corporation
Previous Team: X-Corps, Generation X
Powers: Flight, super-strength, near-invulnerability, limited telepathy and night-vision. She is also incredibly intelligent and has a photographic memory, but it is not know whether these are natural or mutant abilities.

History: Monet St Croix was born in Algeria. The St Croix family were highly influential and well-off and she and her brothers and sisters lived in luxury. However, the dream was shattered when Monet's brother, Marius, developed his mutant powers. Marius, who became known as Emplate, needs to feed off the energy of others to survive. Although he prefers to feed off mutants, it is possible for him to drain the energy of non-mutants. When his powers first emerged, Marius killed his mother. He asked Monet to join him in some bid for mutant supremacy, but Monet laughed at her brother, saying that she could never associate with someone who looked the way he did (his powers had drastically altered his appearance). Marius was enraged and gave Monet a new form that would keep her from being so proud of her looks and from talking - that of Penance. He then asked her what she was without her looks and told her that she would be mocked by others just as she had mocked him. He once again asked her to join him and this time, afraid of the reactions of others, she did. As Penance, she was her brother's prisoner and main food source for several years. Back in Algeria, Monet's twin sisters were shocked by the disappearance of both their brother and their sister and feared their father's reaction. As Monet has always been their father's favorite, the girls used some powers of their own to merge together into the form of Monet.

The new Monet was captured by the Phalanx and subsequently rescued by several other mutants. Immediately after this she joined Generation X and Penance too showed up, having been freed by Gateway, a mysterious mutant with a link to the X-Men and the St Croix's. Monet did not reveal her secret or that of Penance, and the twins continued to masquerade as their elder sister. They were incredibly successful in this and, despite some hints, no one guessed what was really going on. During her early time with the team, Monet was diagnosed as being autistic by Hank "Beast" McCoy. It later turned out that this was because one of the twins was autistic.

Monet's secret was finally revealed during Operation: Zero Tolerance when Everett "Synch" Thomas synched with Monet and the twins were forcibly separated. Nicola and Claudette revealed everything and expressed distress at their sister being trapped in the form of Penance. They decided to once again merge together and take her place in the Penance form. When Monet was returned to her own body she was overjoyed, but was upset that her sisters were forced to live in her prison. The rest of Generation X was somewhat disappointed when the real Monet acted almost exactly like the old one had - snobbish, standoffish and with a real superiority complex. However, throughout their time together, Monet relaxed somewhat and became close to all of her teammates, especially Everett with whom she had a relationship.

Later, the twins were separated from the Penance body and were once again themselves, after an attack by Emplate on the school. Emplate was captured and their father, overjoyed, came to visit the school. He informed Monet that he was withdrawing her - something she had asked him to do many times. Monet, however, was not happy, having finally grown accustomed to being at the Academy. However, she left and was briefly a student at a Swiss boarding school where she discovered that the headmaster was a vampire. After this unexpected twist, she returned to America and rejoined Generation X.

The death of Everett hit Monet hard, but finally allowed her to develop a proper relationship with Jubilation "Jubilee" Lee who had also been in love with the young Mr. Thomas. It is unknown what she did when the team disbanded, but she later turned up as part of Sean "Banshee" Cassidy's X-Corps. Monet, along with Husk and Jubilee had joined the group to keep an eye on Banshee, who did not seem to be acting like himself. After X-Corps broke up, Monet became part of Professor Xavier's X-Corporation (Paris branch).

Currently Monet appears as a main character in X-Factor (2nd Series).  She accepted James Maddrox's offer and joined his team sometime after M-day; she retained her powers after M-day and is one of the few remaining mutants.

Real Name: Jonothon Evan Starsmore

Nicknames: Jono, Sparky
From: London, England [Scotland in GenX Novel]
Age: 20? [18 when joined Generation X]
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Brown
Height:
Weight:
Family: Father
First Appearance: Generation X # 1
Current Team: X-Men / Weapon X
Previous Team: Generation X
Powers: Jono is composed of pure psionic energy and also possesses low-level telepathy. He can use the psionic energy to generate psionic blasts and also to fly, using an aid designed by Forge. He has the potential to become the most powerful mutant on the planet as he has the ability to do practically anything, including rebuilding his body and developing his telepathy to a level higher than either Emma Frost or Jean Grey. As he is composed of psionic energy, Jono does not need to eat, drink or breathe
Other:
Profile from the Gen X Ashcan

History: Born in England, Jonothon Starsmore was almost normal before his powers manifested. He was, in fact, a minor rock star. However, the onset of his powers destroyed this life, along with his chest and lower face. This event also paralyzed his girlfriend of the time, Gayle Edgerton. As Jono used his powers he destroyed more and more of his body, until it reached the state that it is in today, and he took to covering up the affected areas of his body with wraps of various types.

Jono was not one of the next generation of mutants kidnapped by the Phalanx, despite being on Professor Xavier's list. At 18, he was the oldest of the teenage mutants to be invited to the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters. Upon joining Generation X he was given the codename Chamber. Still blaming himself for past events, Jono kept to himself and the others found it difficult to relate to him. Early in his career with Generation X, however, he reached out to Penance and helped to convince her to join the team. Despite his low self-esteem and his self-imposed isolation from the others, Jono forged relationships with several of the other students, including Paige "Husk" Guthrie and Angelo "Skin" Espinoza.

Most noteworthy of these relationships was his on-off relationship with Paige. When Paige was going through some problems related to the legacy virus, Gateway compelled Jono to talk to her. The talk resulted in their first 'kiss' which in turn led to the destruction of the Girl's Dorm. Jono took full responsibility for this event, but managed to isolate Paige with his wording. For some time Jono and Paige sent each other mixed-messages and had several misunderstandings. Things were finally resolved just before Paige left Generation X for a few weeks to be with her sick mother. Although Jono had promised to wait for her and it looked like they would date upon her return, Jono was plagued by self-doubt, yet again. When Paige returned he pushed her away. She eventually began dating someone else, something which Jono made no move to stop. His feelings for her, however, remained.

His time with Generation X helped Jono to develop his powers, although he still seems afraid of them and Everett "Synch" Thomas seemed better able to manage them. During this period of his life, Jono went up against mutants such as Emplate and Omega Red, and successfully battled them. He also discovered that his former girlfriend Gayle, had not truly been crippled.

When the school opened it's doors to humans, students were told that Jono had lost his voice in an accident as an explanation for the bandages he wore from chest to nose.

Just before Generation X disbanded, Jono was offered a place on the X-Men team. Unlike Paige, Jono's goal had never been to join the adult version of Generation X and he seemed unsure of what to do. Returning to England, he found himself in a relationship with Candy Southern, a music star. The relationship drew plenty of attention to the young mutant, especially as Jono had stopped hiding the missing parts of his body and was constantly surrounded by roiling psionic energy. Candy ended things when the press coverage became too negative, and Jono left England to join the X-Men .

His first active mission with the saw Jono enrolling at University in an attempt to uncover an anti-mutant group. Although Sean "Banshee" Cassidy attempted to draft Jono into X-Corps, Jono refused to join and helped to reveal the inner workings of the group. Since then, Jono has only turned up at Xavier's sporadically. Recently, he returned to question Paige's budding relationship with Warren "Angel" Worthington III, and briefly became a full team-member once again. Prompted by his jealousy over Paige and Warren's relationship, Jono is currently on another undercover mission, this time infiltrating the notorious Weapon X. To prove his loyalty to the programmed he has already had to commit a murder.

Chamber lost his mutant powers after M-day and is alive only because of a life-support system Beast designed to sustain him. He appeared during Generation M and later in New Excalibur, obviously unconscious in the coma induced by the life-support.

Jonothon Starsmore aka Chamber: Generation X Ashcan Profile

Name: Jonothon Evan Starsmore
Nationality: British

He may be a born leader, but gettin' anybody ta follow him may be the biggest problem. Not one to talk much about himself, ye'd think his life began the day his mutant power first manifested itself. He's horribly scarred by his own power -- bio-blasts that threaten not only himself, but the rest of the team as well.

The test'll be to teach him how to use his 'power' without destroyin' any more of his body, or his mind, in the process.

Real Name: Everett Thomas
Code Name: Synch
Status: Deceased
Nicknames: Ev
From: St Louis, Missouri, USA
Age: 17
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Brown
Height: 5'11
Weight: 165lbs
Family: Stan (father), Ida (mother), Kim Ho Twae (adopted sister), adopted brother
First Appearance: X-Men # 36
Last Appearance: Generation X # 70
Current Team: None
Previous Team: Generation X
Powers: Can cast an aura of synchronicity that allows him to temporarily use the powers of any mutant in a certain area. This aura often appeared to be multi-colored - this was caused by the energy he was absorbing splitting the ambient light around him. Could track other mutants by locking his synchronistic aura on to a bio-signature. The aura would then extend in the general direction of the mutant. It was theorized that if Everett could learn to keep the powers he synched up with on a more permanent basis, he could become omnipotent

History: Everett Thomas was born into a well-adjusted, loving family in St Louis. At school he was a straight-A student and got along with pretty much everyone. When his mutant powers developed, his parents were completely supportive and so he never resented being a mutant as some of his later teammates did.

Everett was one of the young mutants targeted for harvest by the Phalanx, but he was never actually captured. Instead he was located by Sean "Banshee" Cassidy> and Emma Frost and helped to rescue Husk, Monet "M" St Croix, Angelo "Skin" Espinoza and Clarice "Blink" Ferguson. After this incident, he joined the newly formed Generation X.

Everett quickly became popular with his teammates and formed particularly close bonds with Jubilee and Skin, and later with Monet. Eager to learn more about his powers, he spent his time at the Massachusetts Academy pushing himself as far as he could go, and often annoyed the others by using their powers better than they themselves could.

His time at with Generation X was not all smooth sailing, however. He was once possessed by Emplate, who teleported Everett back to St Louis. Everett then attempted to turn his family into creatures like himself and Emplate but was saved by a combination of his own reluctance to harm his family and the intervention of Husk, M and Jubilee.

Later, he put himself at massive risk in an attempt to disarm the bombs that Adrienne Frost had planted at the Academy. Although he succeeded in saving the school and its pupils, Everett could not save himself and was killed. His death left the team in a state of shock, but none were as badly affected as Jubilee and M. The incident served to bring the two girls closer together as they both acknowledged the feelings the other had had for Everett.

Real Name: Tristan Brawn
Code Name: None
Family: Hunter Brawn (grandfather)
First Appearance: Generation X #50
Powers: None. Tristan is not a mutant

History: Tristan apparently joined the Massachusetts Academy when it opened its doors to non-mutants and became a 'normal' boarding school. Shortly after joining the school, Tristan was taken from the school grounds, against his will. When Sean Cassidy attempted to save Tristan from his 'kidnapper', he too was taken. The 'kidnapper' turned out to be an associate to Tristan's grandfather, Hunter Brawn, who had been worried about how Tristan would cope without him. This was the motive behind his retrieval of the boy from the school grounds. Tristan appeared to be unhappy with his return to his grandfather's house.

Under the impression that he and Banshee had been kidnapped (as Banshee actually had), Generation X launched a rescue mission. However, things were not as simple as they had imagined as Hunter turned out to have access to a super-natural talisman which made him supremely powerful. Eventually, Hunter decided to prove to Generation X that his grandson was there of his own free will and gave him permission to return to the Academy if he so desired. Tristan decided to return to the school.

Back at the Academy, Tristan worked out that Paige & Co. were mutants and threatened to reveal them if Paige didn't agree to go on a date with him. The rest of Generation X was appalled at the suggestion and stunned when Paige agreed on the date. Tristan and Paige accompanied each other to the Academy formal dance and shared a kiss afterwards.

When Hunter was sent to prison for the murder of Jubilee's parents, Tristan disowned him and found himself alone in the world, as his grandfather is his legal guardian. Presumably, Tristan now runs Hunter's large business empire, something for which he was being groomed. His relationship with Paige seems to have ended some time before the Counter X storyline.
